Brian D’Souza a Roman Catholic born and brought up in Mumbai, India. Brian is an IT professional currently doing his Post Graduation in Management and currently working in his own small multimedia company , he set up called “Green Ozone”. Back in 1998 , Brian D’Souza founded Indian Extreme Metal band Dementra . He went on to become the first , youngest Indian musician to top MP3.Com world music charts and also win EMA Award (Extreme Metal Asian Artists of the Year 2002 Award) as part of Dementra . Brian produced 2 chart topping albums of Dementra “Doorway to Demention” & “Lost at Creation” both of which topped MP3.com charts and several other stations worldwide. Dementra as a band took Indian Rock to a whole new level through the internet as a medium never explored or attempted before by Indian Musicians . 7 years later although Brian & the other 3 founding members of Dementra have parted ways to pursue professional careers, and although Brian never considered music a profession music to him still remains forever a passion. Last year Brian produced India’s first ever Rock Video Compilation featuring Indian artists titled “Enter-Exist-Exit” which was the first Indian Rock Video release to be aired on MSS Vision (USA). Brian has been
influenced by all types of music down the years…including
Gospel…over the past six months Brian had a deep feeling within
about a music release which would help gospel artists in India get
their music out to the people. He continued his search for these artists
and after 7 months has compiled India’s & Asia’s first
ever online Online Gospel Music Album featuring artist’s from
across the nation titled “Think Again” . Brian continues to promote talented Indian artists with positive music. The recent bomb blasts that shook Mumbai & the floods we experienced were the main reasons for his latest release "Awake & Arise" - Tribute to the Spirit of Mumbai. After disaster struck, it was the Spirit of the people that celebrated Life. This non-commercial album featuring top bands from accross the nation is a tribute from the music fraternity to the people of Mumbai. Brian believed in making this album freely available for the people to download, He says "We are Celebrating Life, not putting a Cost on it"..We got a message to give out to the people...Music is our way of getting it through.
