| Cyanide, this was the name of Modern School
Barakhamba Road's official school band.
The band's line up kept changing every year as the senior members kept
passing out of school and auditions being held for new band members.
In December 2000, with Rohan Solomon already a member of the band as
a rhythm guitarist, Rahul Sainani, Bharat Bindal and Shardul Mehta joined
the band playing the Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drums respectively
and Rohan handling the Leads. The very next year, in December 2001, John
Sangtam joined the band as the lead guitarist and Rohan decided to try
his hand at the Vocals. For two rocking years, we guys loved playing
music together on stage and at Band Practices. Even though we were still
in school, what we achieved as a band was far more than what we expected.
In the summer of 2002, we guys got down to work and recorded 2 of our
Self Compositions, 'Untold Misery' and 'Cool Breeze On Camel's Back'
which were highly appreciated by everyone and anyone who heard them.
The band won the Pepsi Storm 2002 competition organized by The Times
Of India and Pepsi, beating around 33 other Delhi schools. Our song 'Untold
Misery' was played live on FM radio on the show 'Footloose' hosted by
RJ Anmol Sood.
After passing out of school, we guys decided that we should stick together
permanently and play more music together because we guys just clicked
and our understanding of each other came naturally.
The band's influences are Creed, Firehouse, Mr. Big, Greenday, Tantric,
Puddle Of Mudd, Pearl Jam etc.
The band has performed at various places, Hindu College, Infinity Business
School , HT City Youth Nexus and PVR Saket being the most recent ones.
The band has a total of 6 self compositions so far with new self compositions
on their way.
The Self compositions of the band are:-
1. Untold Misery
2. Abstract
3. Lucid Dream
4. Cool Breeze On Camel's Back
5. My Bitch
6. Make belief Life
Even though the band has been together for about 2 years now, we still
have a long long way to go. With interviews by newspapers like Delhi
Mid-day and The Indian Express and articles in Hindustan Times and The
Times Of India, the band sure has got some exposure. All we need now
are gigs where we can perform and prove that we are 5 talented musicians
with a lot of potential. Even though we've been together for about 2
years now, we still have a long way to go but we know that we'll make
it big someday in the near future.
CYANIDE has officially gotten back together with a new lineup and will
be performing sometime soon. Hope to see you guys at our gigs.

UNTOLD
MISERY (Rohan Solomon)
Come take a walk with me outside,
i'll tell you a story about my life.
It wasn't easy but i made it,
I made it through this misery, I made it.
I've seen the tough times probably the worst,
I wasn't accepted at first, nothing has changed since then and i'm
heading towards the end.
I had to live by certain rules, they were unfair.
There was a misery of a girl, that mine couldn't compare to.
Chorus:
In my life I took the wrong path,
Where anger, hate and suffering's alot.
I've had enough of this strife,
I want to change the ways of my life.
Now i want to, now i want to
Now i want to break loose of this Untold misery
Woh! oh! Untold misery
We'll carry this walk further on,
and find out everything just went wrong.
So many untold things to be said,
but before you know it I will be dead.
Well that girl with the sad story isn't alive to hear this out.
My heart is beating, I wanna scream and shout
Repeat Chorus:
Bridge:
And it took a long time for me to walk out of this life.
I didn't commit a crime, I was seduced by this life.
And only hope can change my history,
and only time can reveal this mystery...
Repeat Chorus
