Journeying to be faith filled through a faithful relationship with the gospel.

Youth Ministry ... it’s about being commissioned for youth - in formation.
The first goal of youth ministry is to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.. Adolescence is an important time for mental, spiritual, social, and physical growth. Their experiences and relationships greatly influence their healthy and positive development. The parish of Mt Carmel, Bandra, strives to surround young people with the best possible environment—networks of caring relationships of family, school, peers, and other adults—while young people are developing their internal psychological and spiritual fiber—their values, life skills, commitments, and moral compass.

As their companions on this journey the parish seeks to walk with them and engaging them in a dialogue to make a choice to live as disciples of the gospel. Empowerment comes through being informed of the values that the Church lives by. It is through a process of formation in the faith that young people are called to become formators to others.

Youth Ministry ... it’s about connection in service.
The second goal is “to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the parish community.” Young people have a great desire to use their youthfulness in a positive way. Deep down there is a yearning to reach out and touch the lives of those around them; and in turn be touched them selves. The Youth movement seeks to direct those energies of love towards the needs of the parish community by involvement in the mission and life of the parish and beyond.

Youth Ministry ... it’s about celebrating our youth.
The third goal is to engage young people into a holistic interaction with their peers. Young people connect on a very personal level with one another in a celebration of life. The parish seeks to encourage this celebration of life; a connection of youth to youth, of heart to heart. In creating opportunities to fellowship with youth, the parish seeks to provide a platform of healthy interaction and thus experiencing the power of Jesus command ‘to love one another’
